SAFETY
COMMITTEE

LifeMed has an active safety committee involved in not only the day-to-day safety issues, but in the quality assurance and performance improvement process. The diversity of the members and construction of the committee allow for each issue to receive attention from every possible angle, ensuring LifeMed’s commitment to a safe workplace, the provision of quality patient care and a high level of operational excellence are continually upheld.

Committee members include a safety representative from each base, the local safety representative from each vendor, the Logistics Manager, Fleet and Facilities Manager, a representative from the communications center, and all members of the senior leadership team.

The meetings are open to anyone. Pilots, mechanics, medical crewmembers, communication specialists, etc. are all welcome to attend.

FRONTLINE
TECHNOLOGIES

To help prevent tampering, LifeMed has closed circuit cameras to observe our hangers, medication storage room, heliports, aircraft and ramps, which are monitored 24/7 by communication specialists.

Each flight is tracked in multiple ways through the use of Sky Connect, Flight Vector, Radar 24 and Flight Aware 24 hours a day through our Dispatch Center. This allows us to always know where our aircraft is and when it will arrive at its destination. Dispatchers maintain contact through Radio and Satellite commutations with each aircraft.

Each aircraft is equipped with multiple VHF and 800 MHz frequencies as well as satellite phone to ensure medical crews have access to medical control anywhere they are at any time.
